Wordpress 2.9 Problems & How To Fix Glitches
One of the greatest features of Wordpress is that we can attach the stand alone blogs (self hosted) to our Wordpress.com accounts. This provides such ease when wanting to add new plugins, designs and keep everything up to date.
The problem is that when we see the yellow message to upgrade to Wordpress 2.9, most do not know that it is not necessary to immediately upgrade to a new version. In fact, it is sometime better to wait a while before upgrading to a new Wordpress version until you check what others are experiencing and reporting as problems. This is especially true with upgrades that have glitches like Wordpress 2.9.
The following are the Wordpress 2.9 Problems Reported & How To Fix The Glitches
1) Some cannot add tags.
2) RSS feed warning, “could not converted to UTF-8″.
3) “Fatal error: Call to undefined function:” … “destruct()”
4) Not being able to add new posts.
5) Trackback & Ping Issues per blazingminds.co.uk
6) Not able to edit files using the Editor in Appearance.

You need to do the following to fix the Wordpress 2.9 problems:
1) Download this Wordpress Patch file.
2) Right click on the zipped file and “Extract”
3) Once extracted click on the folder until you see the documents in it
4) Upload those documents / content into your wp-includes folder.
* If using FTP to do this, select yes to overwrite the old versions.
This will fix your Wordpress 2.9 problems.
